About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician (EVS)/Housekeeping role is based at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. The hospital provides inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The technician helps maintain a clean, sanitary, orderly, and presentable hospital environment while demonstrating customer service excellence in interactions with patients, families, visitors, and staff. The position is full-time, with compensation of $15.00 to $18.28 per hour based on years of experience.

Requirements

Previous housekeeping experience required.

Nice To Haves

High school degree or equivalent preferred.
Previous hospital EVS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate commitment to customer service excellence in interactions with patients, family members, visitors, and other staff.
Maintain a clean work environment in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobbies.
Help maintain the overall sanitation, order, and appearance of the hospital.
Perform light manual work and complete routine housekeeping tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
Clean assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to help prevent the spread of disease.
Dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture; empty ashtrays and trash buckets; and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
Make beds with clean linen in the prescribed manner.
Scour and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment.
Replenish supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
