About The Position

Magee-Women's Hospital of UPMC is hiring full-time Environmental Services Associates for first- and second-shift positions. The associate cleans assigned areas—including patient rooms, public areas, offices, and equipment—to meet hospital and department standards and promote the quality of care provided in the environment. The role also involves moving equipment, furniture, and boxes, and removing and hanging blinds and curtains. Rotating weekend and holiday availability may be required to support operating hours. Associates may enter rooms where medications are stored, but they are not allowed to handle medications.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to complete housekeeping duties successfully.
Ability to use housekeeping equipment.
Act 34 clearance.

Responsibilities

Make beds in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms according to established cleaning procedures.
Inspect assigned areas to ensure they are clean and in good repair, and report problems to the supervisor.
Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in assigned areas.
Clean assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment, following established procedures.
Keep assigned equipment clean and in working condition, and report problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
Remove trash from assigned areas.
Follow safety and sanitation regulations.
Move equipment, furniture, and boxes; wash walls; spot-clean carpets; and perform other assigned tasks.
Remove and hang blinds and curtains.
