About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician maintains a clean work environment in assigned areas of an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Assigned areas may include patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and the lobby. The technician also helps maintain a safe environment by promptly reporting unsafe conditions and replenishing supplies such as soap, towels, toilet tissue, and other disposable items.

The role is full-time at Select Medical Rehabilitation Hospital at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Compensation is $17.00–$20.73 per hour. Post-offer employment testing (POETs) is completed during onboarding before the employee’s first day of work.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospital environmental services (EVS) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean work environment in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and the lobby.
• Help maintain a safe environment by immediately reporting unsafe conditions to a supervisor or the appropriate department.
• Replenish supplies, including soap, towels, toilet tissue, and other disposable items.
