About The Position

UPMC Bedford is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Associate to clean assigned areas—including patient rooms, public areas, offices, and equipment—in accordance with Hospital and Department standards, supporting the quality of care provided in the environment. The role also involves moving equipment, furniture, and boxes, as well as removing and hanging blinds and curtains.

The position works from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. Employees may work in rooms where medications are stored, but may not have contact with medications.

Requirements

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to complete housekeeping duties.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.
• Act 34 clearance.

• Previous hands-on experience in a physically active position involving safe, efficient, and consistent completion of assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Make beds in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned, following established cleaning procedures.
• Inspect assigned areas to ensure they are properly cleaned and in good repair, and report problems to the supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in assigned areas.
• Clean assigned patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment according to established procedures.
• Keep assigned equipment clean and in working condition, and report problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Remove trash from assigned areas.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, and boxes; wash walls; spot-clean carpets; and perform other assigned tasks.
• Remove and hang blinds and curtains.
