About The Position

UPMC Hamot is hiring a part-time Environmental Service Associate for 20 hours per week. The role cleans assigned areas—including patient rooms, public areas, offices, and equipment—to meet hospital and department standards and promote quality of care. Duties also include moving equipment, furniture, and boxes, and removing and hanging blinds and curtains. Previous experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to complete housekeeping duties successfully.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.
• Act 34 clearance.
• No contact with medications is allowed, even when duties take place in rooms where medications are stored.

Responsibilities

• Make beds in assigned patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms according to established cleaning procedures.
• Inspect assigned areas to ensure they are clean and in good repair, and report problems to the supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in assigned areas.
• Clean assigned patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment according to established procedures.
• Keep assigned equipment clean and in working condition, and report problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Remove trash from assigned areas.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, and boxes; wash walls; spot-clean carpets; and perform other assigned tasks.
• Remove and hang blinds and curtains.
