About The Position

The Environmental Services Assistant performs cleaning tasks in an assigned area while following established policies and procedures. The role includes cleaning floors, carpets, restrooms, and other assigned spaces; collecting and disposing of trash; replenishing supplies; and sanitizing C-Diff patient rooms using specified products. The position also involves changing cubicle curtains and maintaining cleaning equipment.

Requirements

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Physical stamina.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain cleaning equipment.
• May be required to complete annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
• A high school diploma or GED is strongly preferred but not required; candidates willing to complete a GED within one year of employment are encouraged to apply. LMHS will assist with the cost of a GED preparation class and test.

Responsibilities

• Clean, mop, and scrub hard-surface floors.
• Maintain carpets by vacuuming and operate carpet extractors and floor scrubbers.
• Collect and dispose of trash.
• Clean assigned areas by dusting, mopping, and sanitizing, and replenish soap and other necessary products.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms.
• Sanitize C-Diff patient rooms using specified products and change cubicle curtains.
