Requirements

• Two years of construction inspection experience on heavy construction projects such as dams, flood control projects, mine reclamation projects, treatment plants, hazardous waste projects, airports, highways or utility installations
• An Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a closely related field
• An equivalent combination of experience and training
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
• Meet the PA residency requirement

Responsibilities

• Examine plans and specifications to identify differences between field conditions and design expectations
• Inspect backfilling, grading, seeding, storm-water ditches, and material installations on active reclamation sites
• Monitor construction of stream channels, wetlands, ponds, drainage structures, and treatment systems
• Maintain detailed daily records of work completed, equipment used, and contract quantities for payment
• Observe drilling, sealing, and monitoring of boreholes and record measurements related to subsidence control activities
• Inspect erosion and sedimentation controls, enforce corrective actions, and ensure contractor compliance with project requirements
