About The Position

The primary objective of the Environmental, Health & Safety Program Coordinator is to ensure that the EHS department has a reliable, organized system for controlling documents, maintaining records, tracking compliance activities, and supporting EHS operations. The position provides the administrative foundation necessary for the EHS team to effectively manage regulatory compliance, employee safety, environmental responsibilities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–5 years of administrative, compliance, safety, quality, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or similar environment preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint or similar document-management systems.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge or the ability to develop knowledge of OSHA general industry requirements
  • Knowledge or the ability to develop knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety document-control practices
  • Knowledge or the ability to develop knowledge of Record retention requirements
  • Knowledge or the ability to develop knowledge of Training and certification tracking

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Environmental, Health, and Safety document-control system and ensure documents are properly identified, approved, issued, revised, and archived.
  • Ensure obsolete or superseded documents are removed from points of use and properly archived.
  • Maintain document revision histories and revision-control records.
  • Coordinate document reviews with Environmental, Health, and Safety and department owners.
  • Track required periodic reviews and revisions of Environmental, Health, and Safety documents.
  • Verify that controlled documents contain appropriate revision numbers, effective dates, approval information, and document owners.
  • Assist with maintaining electronic and hard-copy Environmental, Health, and Safety records.
  • Ensure documents are stored in designated locations and are readily retrievable for employees, supervisors, auditors, and regulatory inspections.
  • Assist the Environmental, Health, and Safety team with preparation for internal, customer, corporate, and regulatory audits.
  • Maintain audit schedules and support documentation.
  • Track audit findings, observations, corrective actions, responsible parties, and due dates.
  • Prepare documentation packages for auditors and regulatory personnel as directed by Environmental, Health, and Safety management.
  • Assist with compiling evidence of compliance for OSHA, EPA, fire protection, environmental, and other applicable requirements.
  • Maintain an audit-ready filing system.
  • Maintain the Environmental, Health, and Safety corrective action database or tracking system.
  • Maintain supporting documentation demonstrating action completion.
  • Generate periodic status reports for Environmental, Health, and Safety management and department leadership.
  • Escalate overdue actions to the appropriate Environmental, Health, and Safety representative or department manager.
  • Serve as an administrative point of contact for Environmental, Health, and Safety documentation and records.
  • Communicate professionally with employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, and external service providers.
  • Protect confidential employee and company information.
  • Promote a professional and service-oriented approach to Environmental, Health, and Safety support.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned by TAS.
