About The Position

Mott is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to support and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety programs within our manufacturing operations. This role is highly visible on the manufacturing floor and works closely with employees and leaders to strengthen compliance, reduce risk, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. The EHS Coordinator will conduct inspections, maintain compliance documentation, coordinate employee training, support incident investigations, and help drive corrective actions to completion. Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Three to five year's experience supporting environmental, health, or safety programs in a manufacturing, industrial, laboratory, or other regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with employees, frontline leaders, and cross-functional partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and willingness to spend significant time in a manufacturing environment conducting inspections, engaging employees, and supporting improvement activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance, incident investigations, audits, inspections, or corrective-action tracking.
  • OSHA 30-hour training or another relevant safety credential.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or comparable environmental and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety and environmental inspections, audits, workplace observations, and compliance assessments to ensure alignment with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste, wastewater, stormwater, chemical management, recycling, and related environmental activities.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, permits, training documentation, inspection reports, regulatory files, and compliance tracking systems.
  • Assist with preparation for internal audits and regulatory inspections, including gathering documentation and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, programs, and safe work practices.
  • Assist with investigations involving incidents, injuries, near misses, safety concerns, and environmental events.
  • Document findings and support identification of root causes, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Track action items through completion and verify that corrective actions have been implemented effectively.
  • Review recurring issues and trends with EHS and operational leaders to help prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate EHS training for new employees and ongoing compliance-related training for the existing workforce.
  • Maintain training schedules and records and follow up on incomplete or overdue requirements.
  • Support the development and delivery of safety communications, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and training materials.
  • Promote employee participation in hazard reporting, near-miss reporting, safety observations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with supervisors and employees to identify hazards and reinforce safe work practices throughout the facility.
  • Coordinate and help lead the organization’s Safety Committee.
  • Develop meeting agendas, organize discussion topics, capture minutes, and communicate follow-up expectations.
  • Track committee actions to closure and help ensure the committee’s work results in meaningful safety improvements.
  • Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, Engineering, Quality, and other functions to support EHS priorities and operational needs.
  • Provide dependable day-to-day EHS support and guidance to employees and frontline leaders.
  • Use EHS data, observations, and employee feedback to identify risk trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on compliance, risk reduction, employee engagement, and environmental performance.
