About The Position

CDM Smith is looking for an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This position presents an excellent opportunity for early-career candidates to apply their engineering skills to innovative and sustainable water projects while building their technical expertise and growing within a dynamic team. In this role, you will support the planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and associated infrastructure. You will work alongside experienced engineers and project teams to develop solutions that meet client needs and comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging and sustainable water infrastructure projects while developing technical skills, gaining real-world project experience, and learning from experienced professionals across the Water Services Group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 0 years of experience.
  • Basic Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
  • Basic Knowledge of engineer principles of design.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
  • Good verbal and written communication ability.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting site assessments, field investigations, and project studies.
  • Assisting with design development and adjusting design parameters based on project requirements and findings.
  • Performing water quality analyses, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and other engineering analyses.
  • Preparing technical reports, project documentation, presentations, and other deliverables for client meetings and industry conferences.
  • Using tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software to support project design and analysis.
  • Coordinating office and field activities in support of regional lead service line rehabilitation projects.
  • Participating in fieldwork and construction management activities, providing exposure to projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
