About The Position

CDM Smith is looking for an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group! This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates to apply their engineering skills to innovative and sustainable water and wastewater projects while learning from experienced engineers and growing within a collaborative team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, remediation sites, and other critical infrastructure. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple stages of the project lifecycle. Work in a strong in-office culture focused on mentoring, collaboration, and professional development. When not in the field, this position will be based in the office 5 days per week, providing opportunities to work closely with experienced engineers, build your technical skills, and grow your career. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
0 years of experience.
Basic Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
Basic Knowledge of engineer principles of design.
Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
Good verbal and written communication ability.
An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

Support the design and development of water and wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, pipelines, remediation sites, and related infrastructure.
Perform essential engineering tasks related to remediation sites.
Perform site assessments and field investigations to support project design and development.
Assist with water quality analyses, engineering calculations, and hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
Adjust design parameters and develop solutions based on project requirements, site conditions, and regulatory standards.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and other project documentation.
Develop drawings, maps, presentations, and other project materials using tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
Collaborate with project teams and contribute to presentations for clients, industry conferences, and other stakeholders.
Support construction management activities and participate in fieldwork, providing exposure to projects from initial planning and design through construction.
