About The Position

We are seeking an Environmental Coordinator to join our growing team in British Columbia. Your day-to-day work will include the coordination of multiple environmental scopes of work, including identifying environmental and heritage risks, coordinating subject matter expert inputs to risk, preparation of monitoring reports and results interpretation against accepted standards, and provision of time-sensitive construction phase tasks where quick response times are critical. Location: Can be based out of our Vancouver office within the Lower Mainland, or our Victoria and Nanaimo offices on Vancouver Island. Other office locations across BC will be considered.

Requirements

  • A university degree or college diploma in environmental science or related studies.
  • At least 6-8 years of experience with a focus in environmental management preferably within an environmental consultancy and a focus on construction.
  • Project management/coordination experience completing projects on time and within budget with a high degree of client satisfaction.
  • Working knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, regulatory permits and approvals, bylaws, and environmental best management practices.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize workload to manage multiple assignments at one time.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate level training is an asset.
  • CAPM or PMP accreditation or eligibility is considered an asset.
  • Professional accreditation or eligibility is considered an asset (e.g., RBTech, RPBio., EP, P.Ag., P.Eng., RPP).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting field work; formal training or certification such as EMCPP, CISEC, CESCL, CPESC, EMCPP considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that environmental and social risks are fully incorporated into projects.
  • Preparing scope, budgets, schedules, change management and deliverables according to contract terms including subconsultant and subcontractor management and coordination.
  • Coordinating or preparing environmental permit applications and technical reports associated with regulatory approvals or compliance requirements.
  • Ensuring quality of work including work plans, field programs, data collection and analysis, mapping, technical reports and management plans, environmental monitoring.
  • Supporting relationship management on behalf of, and as directed by clients with Project stakeholders, partners, agencies and Indigenous groups.
  • Overseeing or conducting Field work including environmental monitoring, field studies, research, and data collection.
