Environmental Advocate & Fundraiser Partnering with the Sierra Club
About The Position
Threshold Giving is partnering with the Sierra Club, a leading grassroots environmental organization dedicated to protecting land, air, water, and climate through activism, education, lobbying, and legal action. As an Environmental Advocate, you will be the community's voice, engaging the public, answering questions, and inspiring support for environmental protection efforts. This face-to-face fundraising role focuses on building a community of monthly supporters whose contributions power Sierra Club campaigns. Through personal interactions in various public settings, you will highlight urgent environmental issues and demonstrate how individuals can contribute to meaningful progress.
Requirements
- Genuine passion for environmental protection and creating positive change
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working outdoors and interacting with the public daily
- Reliable and self-motivated
- Ability to complete two weeks of full-time training
- Weekend availability required for part-time schedules
Nice To Haves
- Prior sales/fundraising experience is a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Engage the public with passion and professionalism while representing Threshold Giving and the Sierra Club
- Share impactful stories and campaigns to recruit new monthly supporters
- Meet goals while maintaining accurate records and a positive presence
