Entry Manufacturing Laborer (Helper) - 1st Shift
About The Position
This role involves performing various tasks in a manufacturing environment, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), using tools like tape measures and utility knives safely, and adhering to safety policies. Responsibilities include counting and stacking finished products, reading factory orders, safely lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, reading gauges and test equipment, utilizing basic shop math, inspecting products, and completing quality checks and administrative documents. The position also requires maintaining housekeeping standards, performing clean-up functions such as blowing down machines, cleaning ink systems, and sweeping the area, as well as other required duties.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic
- Ability to read a measuring tape and ruler
- Ability to read manufacturing orders
- Good attendance & punctuality
- Warehouse and/or manufacturing experience
- Stable and verifiable work history
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things, receive and follow instructions
Responsibilities
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Proficient use of reading a tape measure and safe use of utility knife
- Following all trained and published safety policies and procedures
- Counting and stacking finished product
- Reading factory orders
- Safely lift/move up to 50 pounds during regular work shift
- Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment
- Utilizing basic shop math
- Inspecting product
- Accurately completing quality checks, administrative documents, and following directions
- Maintains housekeeping all the time
- Assigned to clean-up functions including but not limited to blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, as well as picking up and shredding scrap
