About The Position

At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we’re dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence. We are looking for skilled Laborers to join our team. This role involves operating machinery, assembling components, inspecting parts, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The position is on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified candidates with disabilities.

Requirements

Skilled in operating various hand and power tools in a manufacturing setting.
Proven experience operating forklifts safely in a production environment.
Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
Capable of performing simple calculations, reading instructions in English, and completing basic logs and reports.
Able to lift, push, pull, and position heavy items regularly throughout the shift.
Reliable in working scheduled hours, adhering to timekeeping policies, and following safety and operational procedures.
Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment and performing repetitive tasks while standing for the entire shift.
Ability to work well with others, demonstrate reliability, and maintain accuracy in daily tasks.

Nice To Haves

Blueprint reading experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a forklift to transport materials within the plant.
Use powered and manual hand tools to accurately assemble metal components.
Inspect finished parts for quality assurance.
Maneuver large or heavy parts manually or with crane assistance, prioritizing safe handling practices.
Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Follow all safety protocols, including wearing required PPE throughout the shift.
Perform other duties in various departments as assigned based on production needs.
