About The Position

The Laborer supports the efficient processing and handling of ferrous metals within the scrap metal recycling facility. The Laborer will take part in sorting and preparing various ferrous materials to meet customer specifications. This is a Monday through Friday, family friendly schedule. Requirements

Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to complete safety awareness training.
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Ability to follow directions.
Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
Ability to work in a variety of roles.
One to two years of related experience.
Able to complete physically demanding work.
Good hand-eye-foot coordination and sense of balance.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body. This will include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, carrying, and stooping.
Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
Prolonged periods standing.
Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant. May work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold.

Responsibilities

Performs light maintenance work as needed.
Ability to push and pull while sorting materials.
Understands quality specifications for job and the customer being shipped to.
Completes production reports as needed.
Follows safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks of accidents and injuries.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
