About The Position

The Entry Level Extrusion Laborer supports daily aluminum extrusion production by helping keep material moving safely, accurately, and on schedule. The position rotates through equipment as needed and learns multiple stations through cross-training. Work is performed onsite at Flextrude Aluminum Shapes in Sanford on full-time 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with overtime when production requires it. The shop-floor work involves checking station safety notes, supporting whichever part of the production line needs help, coordinating with the crew, monitoring measurements and finish, documenting issues, and completing end-of-shift cleanup and handoff.

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple machines.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety protocols.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and percentages.
Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds regularly.
Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic machine operation, including as a saw helper, tail stretcher, head stretcher, saw operator, and press operator.
Monitor production output for quality, including measurements and finish.
Follow manufacturing procedures and safety protocols.
Handle material throughout the extrusion process.
Rotate among stations as production needs require and learn multiple stations through cross-training.
Coordinate with the crew and document issues to keep subsequent production steps on track.
Complete end-of-shift cleanup and handoff.
