Drive dry van freight for a dedicated food customer on regional lanes, primarily between Illinois, Ohio, and Iowa, with occasional loads to Georgia. Trailers are preloaded, and most deliveries are drop and hook. Drivers may have day or night dispatches, some weekend work, and winter driving in the Midwest. The role is open to drivers straight out of CDL school. Drivers average about 2,200 miles per week and are home weekly for a 34-hour reset. Pay includes an average weekly gross of $1,400, starting pay of $0.60 per mile with the opportunity to reach $0.70 per mile as experience grows, $25 per stop, and $685 per week during training. Orientation is in Columbus, Ohio, lasts no more than two days, and pays $300 after hiring. A hotel is covered and a one-way bus ticket is reimbursed. New drivers then spend 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor learning backing, trip planning, logs, and fueling before driving their own assigned truck. Benefits begin on day 31.
