This entry-level, dedicated dry van driving role serves Queens and Brooklyn drivers with round-trip store deliveries for one retail customer across New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut. City driving is part of the job, and drivers work day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays. Drivers are home weekly and may pass through home more often when possible. New drivers receive 4 to 6 weeks of mentor training before driving solo. CDL school counts if it included at least 120 hours. During training, drivers earn $850 per week. The posting lists average weekly gross pay of $1,700 to $2,000, mileage pay of $0.85 to $0.90 per mile, and an additional $75 for each delivery inside the five boroughs. Orientation lasts no more than two days and pays $300 once hired. Hotel costs are covered, and a one-way bus ticket is reimbursed. After training, drivers receive an assigned truck averaging about 1.5 years old. After 30 days, benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), a stock purchase plan, and a free online college degree for the driver and one family member.
