Entry Level CDL-A Driver
About The Position
Drive refrigerated freight across the Southeast and Midwest. New drivers begin by riding with a mentor for 4 to 6 weeks, earning $650 per week, then receive a $1,000 weekly guarantee for their first 3 months solo. Orientation lasts 2 days or less and pays $300. After the initial period, drivers average about 2,100 miles per week and average weekly pay of $1,200 to $1,500, plus a monthly bonus. Drivers are home every two weeks. Freight involves live loading and unloading, and drivers remain with the truck while it is being worked; waiting at docks may occur. North Alabama is within the fleet's hiring area.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Hold a valid Class A CDL.
- Have completed at least 120 hours of CDL school.
- No prior driving experience is required for entry-level applicants.
- Experienced applicants need 6 months of experience in the last 12 months or 12 months in the last 5 years.
- Military experience is considered with a DD214.
- Have no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years and no serious violations in 12 months.
- Have no major preventable accidents in 5 years and no DUI/DWI in 5 to 10 years.
- Pass hair and urine drug tests.
- Provide 3 years of verifiable work history.
Responsibilities
