About The Position

Drive a dedicated dry van account on regional routes throughout the Southeast and Mid-South. Most weeks begin Sunday or Monday and end Friday or Saturday, with drivers home each week for their 34-hour restart. The account offers consistent freight on the same account and similar loads week after week. New CDL holders from the Birmingham area are welcome. Drivers train with a mentor for 4 to 6 weeks, earning $650 per week during training. Once solo, pay is $0.55 per mile, with most weeks covering 2,100 to 2,300 miles and average weekly pay of $1,100 to $1,300. Loads under 100 miles pay an additional $40. Bonuses are available for availability, service, and safety. Weekend and holiday work is part of the job, though Christmas is off. Both day and night shifts operate, and occasional loads may go north into the Midwest or Mid-Atlantic. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days, a 401(k), a stock purchase program, free online college for the driver and one dependent, and the option to bring pets and riders after training. Orientation pays $300.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Hold a valid Class A CDL.
Have completed at least 120 hours of CDL school.
Experienced drivers must have 6 months of experience in the last 12 months or 12 months in the last 5 years; trainees are welcome.
Military experience is considered with a DD214.
Have no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years and no serious violations in the last 12 months.
Have no major preventable accidents in the last 5 years.
Have no DUI/DWI in the last 5 to 10 years.
Pass hair and urine drug testing.
Provide 3 years of verifiable work history.

Responsibilities

Drive a dedicated dry van account on regional routes in the Southeast and Mid-South.
Complete assigned loads and routes, including occasional trips into the Midwest or Mid-Atlantic.
Work weekends and holidays as required; Christmas is off.
Maintain availability, service, and safety standards for bonus eligibility.
