CDL-A Driver Entry Level

About The Position

Entry-level CDL-A driving position on a refrigerated (reefer) fleet based in the Rocky Mount area. New CDL holders receive paid training with a mentor for 4 to 6 weeks at $650 per week. Orientation lasts 2 days or less and pays $300. Once driving solo, drivers run 1,900 to 2,500 miles per week, never unload trailers, and return home every two weeks. After training, the position guarantees $1,000 per week for 3 months; average weekly pay is $1,300 to $1,500, with a monthly performance bonus. Drivers use late-model Freightliner equipment with automatic or 10-speed transmissions. Pets and riders are allowed after training.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid Class A CDL.
At least 120 hours of CDL school.
No prior driving experience is required for entry-level applicants.
For experienced drivers: 6 months of experience in the past 12 months or 12 months in the past 5 years.
DD214 considered.
No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years and no serious violations in the past 12 months.
No major preventable accidents in the past 5 years.
No DUI/DWI within the past 5 to 10 years.
Must pass hair and urine drug tests.
Must provide 3 years of verifiable work history.

Responsibilities

Drive a refrigerated-freight fleet, covering 1,900 to 2,500 miles per week once solo.
Transport freight without unloading trailers.
Complete paid mentor training before driving solo.
