About The Position

Avalara’s Marketing Automation team relies on Marketo Engage for email marketing and inquiry processing. The Enterprise Systems Engineer owns the architecture and administration of the platform, ensuring it follows best practices and that Salesforce and Marketo data remain trustworthy across the revenue team. The engineer builds and refines program-shell templates, explores integrations, enforces data-hygiene standards, and partners with the Workfront/Fusion automation team to maintain intake-to-build workflows. The role also documents playbooks, trains marketers on self-service guardrails, and uses AI to assist with QA checklists and incident reports. Work involves Marketo, Salesforce, and reporting tools such as Snowflake to connect planning, execution, and attribution.

  • Familiarity with APIs and webhooks, database management practices, audits, and reporting alignment.
