About The Position

CACI is seeking a TS/SCI-cleared Enterprise Systems Engineer to join its Enterprise Product Support (EPS) team supporting the Air Force DCGS in Hampton, Virginia. The engineer provides systems engineering support across EPS to solve problems, improve efficiency, encourage collaboration, and promote sound engineering practices. This is a full-time, on-site role at Langley AFB, Virginia, with no travel required. The position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately; applicants may also be considered for other CACI positions. The role focuses on capacity management and analysis for virtual systems and enterprise infrastructure, including collecting and assessing resource metrics, supporting provisioning decisions, maintaining engineering documentation, and evaluating technical impacts of requirements and integrations. The engineer also supports configuration management and weapon-system sustainment activities, reviews technical documentation, and communicates engineering details to audiences ranging from senior leadership to developers and design engineers.

  • Current and active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site at Langley AFB, Virginia.
  • Bachelor of Science degree related to computer or electrical engineering, or an associate’s degree in computer or electrical engineering.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • At least 6 years of systems engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with systems comprising virtual components within on-premises or external cloud systems.
  • Knowledge of virtual infrastructures, including compute and storage resources, virtual machines, and basic networking.
  • Strong mathematical background, including understanding the mathematics behind collected and manipulated metrics and proficiency with algebra and unit conversions.
  • Experience using Excel spreadsheets, including formatting, formulas, subtotals, and graphs.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Analyze virtual machine metrics and collaborate with VM owners to right-size vCPU and memory allocations.
  • Develop and use tools and processes to collect, correlate, and assess capacity metrics for CPUs, memory, storage, and bandwidth; analyze high-level integration issues and evaluate technical impacts of new and existing requirements.
  • Obtain privileged user accounts and use tools across virtual systems, edge nodes, private clouds, and enterprise systems to support AF DCGS sustainment and evolving needs.
  • Review technical documentation and provide engineering feedback; create or modify custom queries in existing tools to discover metrics from devices, with or without agents.
  • Generate, update, and maintain capacity data in sustainment engineering documentation and facilitate production of the monthly capacity report.
  • Conduct and support directives from Integrated Sustainment Planning, recommending and addressing deficiencies for weapon-system deployment, operations and support, and decommissioning phases.
  • Develop and implement solutions to maximize the AF DCGS asset management tool in support of baseline Configuration Management.
  • Improve existing tools and processes across systems and teams to increase efficiency and quality, while taking a forward-thinking approach.
  • Assess technical documentation, including architectures, capacity metrics, design descriptions, flow diagrams, requirements, security assessments, Software Design Descriptions (SWDDs), and solutions.
  • Provide capacity management metrics at multiple levels of granularity to inform provisioning decisions for virtual machines, memory, and storage.
  • Maintain the Interface Control Document (ICDT) and SWDD with updates related to sustainment capability integrations.
  • Support CM management of the CAB/CCB process and entry criteria, facilitating compliance, timely progression through the change process, and adherence to the Configuration Management Plan.
