Requirements

• Hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university, ideally in English, English Literature, or a closely related Humanities discipline.
• Previous child-centred experience in a UK educational setting is highly valued.
• Passionate, articulate, and committed English Academic Mentor with strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for literacy and language.
• Must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Delivering targeted one-to-one and small-group English intervention sessions across KS3, KS4, and sixth form
• Supporting pupils working below expected levels or preparing for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations
• Developing pupils' reading comprehension, analytical writing, and spoken communication through structured sessions
• Tracking individual progress and feeding back regularly to the class teacher and Head of English
• Building motivating, trusted relationships with pupils who may have previously disengaged from English
