About The Position

The Engineering, Science and Analysis Strategic Capabilities Unit brings together technical talent and organizational leadership to deliver high-impact technologies for customer missions. The role leads a hardware development team working on RF and electronic components, ensuring cost, schedule, and technical requirements are met. It covers mechanical design, requirement allocation, interface definition, performance analysis, and risk mitigation from concept through detailed design for antenna and RF electronic systems, ground support equipment, and custom test equipment. The position includes CAD modeling, documentation and design analysis; supervision of engineers, designers, and drafters; cost and schedule estimation and management; and coordination of team activities to meet hardware delivery milestones. The engineer works within an integrated program team, prepares technical documents and design-review presentations, provides technical oversight of major subcontracts, and may support production sustaining engineering and new business activities. A regular, predictable work schedule and effective working relationships are expected. This is an on-site role requiring in-person work five days each normally scheduled week at the primary work location. Travel and local commuting between company campuses and other locations may be required. Work may take place in an office, laboratory, production floor, cleanroom, outdoors, or a remote research environment. Occasional work in production areas may require protective equipment, and work at other facilities may involve varying weather conditions. A security clearance or polygraph access is not required to be eligible, but the applicant must be willing and eligible to pursue applicable access after accepting an offer, depending on program requirements, and must be able to maintain it.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field, plus at least 4 years of related experience; related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Each higher-level degree, such as a master's degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Degree must be from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or U.S. Department of Education.
  • Experience in mechanical design of antennas and RF electronic systems.
  • Experience using CAD software.
  • Experience using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Creativity in mechanical engineering design.
  • Design analysis capability.
  • Ability to plan and execute engineering risk-reduction testing and qualification testing.
  • Ability to develop cost estimates and schedules and develop and report earned value.
  • Must be willing and eligible to be submitted for applicable security clearance or access, potentially including polygraph, after accepting an offer depending on program requirements, and able to maintain the applicable clearance or access.
