About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Engineering team! While this description is meant to give you an idea of how we see the role, it is not meant to be all-inclusive. As we adjust our service offerings and model, additional responsibilities may be asked of you to meet the ongoing operational needs.

Requirements

  • Several years of related Engineering experience in a similar role.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain within 6 months the following Certificates of Fitness: F-89 -Fire Life Safety Director, P-99 – Certificate of Fitness for Low Pressure Oil Burner Operator, P-98 – Certificate of Fitness for Fuel-Oil Piping and Storage Systems
  • Ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent time management skills - you execute. You get things done.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.
  • A keen ability for communication, both written and verbal.
  • Scarily organized and all about the details.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures fulfilment of proactive preventative maintenance programs to brand standards including laundry equipment, heating and air conditioning units, ice machines, fire extinguishers/smoke alarms, plumbing
  • Maintains a work order assignment program for completed and pending work orders. Prioritizes and completes work orders in a timely manner. Monitors all deficiencies.
  • Assist in the coordination and supervision of all contracted capital projects
  • Performing regularly scheduled roof to basement walk throughs along with guest room audits looking for signs of necessary preventative maintenance to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department to attain Hotel and departmental goals
  • Maintains the hotel grounds, curb appeal and building exteriors
  • Responding to engineering requests and work orders in a timely, professional manner
  • Monitoring the BMS system and the hotel’s electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Test and ensure cooling tower water are within the correct levels
  • Hiring, training, mentoring, and disciplining of the Engineering team
  • Ensuring weekly scheduling and payroll for the Engineering team is completed accurately and on-time
  • Supervision of all service contractors, including monitoring and ensuring the correct service is being provided and documented
  • Assist with ordering tools and equipment as well as inventory control
  • Educates hotel personnel on emergency procedures and safety precautions
  • Ensure we are compliant with all FDNY regulations; function as a member of the emergency organization team and become an expert on life safety
  • Follow safe working practices and conditions
  • Comply with all the policies, procedures and regulations that relate to the local, state and federal laws
  • Always maintain a positive and friendly attitude, even when working to achieve solutions to challenges
  • Lend a hand to not only guests but your colleagues and team alike - we’ve always been in it together, but as we re-open even more so than before
