About The Position

At FurtherAI, we are building AI agents to revolutionize the insurance industry, which is currently heavily reliant on manual processes. By integrating advanced agentic AI with specialized domain knowledge, we aim to transform critical industry operations. We have secured over $30 million in funding from prominent investors like Andreessen Horowitz, YC, and Nexus. Our company has experienced significant growth, exceeding 1000% in the past year, and we collaborate with major insurance players, including top 10 carriers/brokers and F100/public companies. As a technically driven organization, our founders are engineers, and engineers play a crucial role in shaping our product strategy. We are seeking a highly skilled engineering leader to manage our AI organization, encompassing agents, infrastructure, and core products.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading AI/ML engineering teams in the development and deployment of production LLM/agent systems, with a track record of managing engineers and shipping products.
  • Deep, hands-on understanding of agentic architectures, including tool use, planning, multi-agent orchestration, evaluations, and reliability.
  • Strong technical acumen, with fluency in coding and the ability to rigorously evaluate experiment design.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling teams, including recruiting top talent and developing leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Drive, grit, and a strong sense of ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow the AI organization, scaling it into three distinct teams: AI infrastructure (routing & reliability), Agent intelligence (evals, shared tools, multimodal pipelines), and Agentic products (customer-facing AI assistant, long-running agentic workflows).
  • Define the technical strategy for developing robust production-ready agents that handle real customer financial transactions.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a world-class team of AI engineers, and build a leadership structure as the organization expands.
  • Maintain deep technical involvement by actively contributing to code and architecture, leading by example.
  • Advance the capabilities of AI agents in the insurance sector as the field evolves.
