LawnStarter•Austin, TX
•$170,000 - $225,000•Remote

About The Position

LawnStarter is hiring its first core AI Product Manager to own conversational AI and agent experiences for homeowners and Pros across its home-services marketplace. The role covers the AI roadmap, customer and Pro chat, actions AI takes in the marketplace, AI embedded in existing product workflows, customer-to-Pro messaging, handoffs to human support, and interactions with outside AI agents acting on customers’ behalf. This is an individual-contributor role with Lead-level scope, reporting to the Sr. Director of Product. The Product Manager will work across product surfaces owned by other PMs and share goals with the Customer Experience lead, First Service Experience lead, and Pro Experience PM. The role collaborates with engineering, applied science, design, data, customer service, and operations. It is a hands-on position: the PM will set the AI quality bar, build evaluations and guardrails, review conversation transcripts, and ship AI experiences that take real actions such as rescheduling, skipping, and booking services. The role is fully remote in the US. Compensation includes a base salary of $170,000 to $225,000, equity, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and flexible PTO.

  • Understanding of AI agents and tool use, including the risks of agents taking actions in real systems.
  • Ability to prioritize strategically using data and evidence, and to explain decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Systems thinking and ability to anticipate second- and third-order effects of product changes across a marketplace.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, engineering, design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
