Engineering Manager

Vimeo is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in frontend development to lead their Editor team. This team is responsible for the creation area of Vimeo's platform, where users can edit their videos using various tools and features. The ideal candidate should have expertise in JavaScript, CSS, React, and Redux, as well as proven experience in managing frontend projects from conception to production. They will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of developers, managing projects, providing technical guidance, implementing Agile methodologies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality code.

• Lead and mentor a team of developers (Frontend and backend), fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
• Manage and oversee projects from ideation to production, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and effective resource allocation.
• Leverage strong knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, React, and Redux to make informed decisions and offer technical guidance to the development team.
• Promote and implement Agile development methodologies to ensure efficient project execution, iterative improvement, and effective collaboration with other teams.
• Participate in the hiring process for frontend developers and actively contribute to onboarding new team members, helping them integrate into the team and project smoothly.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members, recognizing achievements, and identifying areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, set expectations, and provide progress updates.
• Enforce best practices, coding standards, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable code.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies, and encourage the team to do the same, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a frontend developer, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, leading teams of at least 3 developers.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, React, and Redux, with a proven track record of delivering successful frontend projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing and delivering frontend projects from conception to production, with a focus on meeting deadlines and project goals.
• Proficiency in working within Agile environments, utilizing Scrum methodologies to manage and deliver projects efficiently.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
