About the position
As an Engineering Manager at Housecall Pro, you will be responsible for building and leading a world-class team of Engineers. Your role will involve working closely with your Engineering team(s) to deliver exceptional products and experiences to customers. You will collaborate with Product Managers and Product Designers to set the technical direction within the organization and continuously improve processes. Additionally, you will be involved in hiring, growing, and developing the Engineering team, as well as driving the Engineering vision and leading projects from requirements gathering to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Build out Engineering best practices and processes
- Hire, grow and develop the Engineering team and its culture
- Inspire and mentor a team of talented Engineers and technical leads
- Drive the Engineering vision and own the Engineering roadmap
- Lead projects from requirements gathering to delivery
- Collaborate with product managers, business operations, engineers, engineering leaders, and business partners
- Collaborate with Product Peers to keep Engineering and Product aligned
- Plan, monitor, and steer strategic development topics
- Take part in strategic roadmap planning
- Improve development processes
- Have 2-3 years of experience building and leading a team of outstanding Engineers
- Have 5+ years of engineering experience
- Have expertise with Ruby on Rails, React, iOS, and Android
- Have excellent technical aptitude and superior project and people management skills
- Ability to work and scale within a fast-growing and agile company
- Ability to think and plan strategically
- Experience mentoring and coaching engineers and other team members
- Proven track record of building a culture that encourages growth and success.
Requirements
- 2-3 years experience building and leading a team of outstanding Engineers
- 5+ years of engineering experience
