Engineering Manager

This job is for an Engineering Manager at Vimeo, a video experience platform. The ideal candidate should have a B-Tech/MTech in Computer Science or equivalent degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience in backend technologies like PHP/Java/Node.JS, and a minimum of 4 years of web development experience with Next/React/Angular. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for designing and developing software with high quality, technically guiding an agile team, participating in a full development life cycle, building solutions that can easily scale to the demands of Vimeo traffic bursts, and mentoring teammates while setting high technical standards. The Engineering Manager will also work closely with the Design, Product, and Analytics teams to move projects from conception to launch and A/B test new features while releasing improvements iteratively.

• Design, and develop software with high quality and take ownership.
• Technically guide an agile team and work collaboratively.
• Participate in a full development life cycle including planning and code reviews.
• Build solutions that can easily scale to the demands of Vimeo traffic bursts.
• Ensure the best technical design and approach with an aim for continuous improvement and following industry best.
• Mentoring teammates and setting high technical standards.

• Be very good in Algorithms, Data structures, and Time Complexities
• Have a minimum of 4 years of web development experience with Next/React/Angular
• Have very good database knowledge (MySQL, Oracle, Redis, Memcache, etc)
• Be hands-on with Design, Coding, Debugging, and Testing
• Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Must have OOPS and Design patterns
• Have a good understanding of cloud technologies
• Be willing to learn and experiment with new technology.
