About The Position

The Engineering Lead will lead a team of engineers building and scaling platforms and experiences that power Growth at Airwallex. The role combines technical leadership, hands-on problem-solving, and execution to turn growth opportunities into reliable products and measurable business impact. Growth Engineering is developing an AI-native platform for customer acquisition, activation, conversion, retention, and expansion, including scalable infrastructure, intelligent decision systems, and automation connecting product, sales, and marketing. The role owns complex Growth initiatives from technical planning and architecture through implementation, launch, and improvement. It guides the direction of backend services, frontend applications, event-driven systems, and AI-native capabilities for experimentation, personalization, and growth automation. The Engineering Lead also develops engineers, collaborates with cross-functional partners, drives outcomes using experimentation and data, and establishes strong engineering practices for quality, performance, reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence. The team is building a unified AI-native growth system across product, sales, and marketing. Its work includes high-traffic platforms, experimentation frameworks, and decision systems that convert customer signals into personalized journeys, next-best actions, and measurable value. It spans tools that increase the leverage of growth teams and agentic workflows for researching opportunities, launching and optimizing campaigns, orchestrating customer journeys, and measuring outcomes within defined strategies and guardrails. In the US, the role works from the Seattle office three days a week.
