About The Position

TYLin is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern for its Boston, Massachusetts office for Summer 2027. The intern will join a collaborative team and gain hands-on experience across building projects, including new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. The position supports structural engineering work from early design through construction and provides opportunities to expand engineering knowledge and skills. Requirements

Currently in the third year of an undergraduate program or enrolled as a graduate student in an accredited Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering program focused on structures.
Completion of at least one steel or concrete design class is required.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and engineering software.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with a team.
Strong commitment to integrity and ethical, fair, and responsible behavior.
Commitment to innovation and continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

Completion of both steel and concrete design classes is preferred.
Familiarity with REVIT Structure.
Co-op or internship experience related to commercial, institutional, or residential buildings.

Responsibilities

Assist the project team in preparing structural designs and drawings for commercial, institutional, residential, and other buildings, from conceptual and preliminary design through construction.
Perform field reviews of projects under construction and/or visit existing buildings to document existing conditions.
Become familiar with engineering plans and details.
Assist with computer modeling and hand calculations.
