About The Position

TYLin is seeking an Engineering Intern to join its Ann Arbor, Michigan office for Summer 2027. The intern will gain hands-on experience working on diverse building projects, including new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. The role provides an opportunity to learn and develop structural engineering skills through meaningful work in a collaborative environment. Requirements

Current third-year undergraduate standing or graduate student standing in an accredited Civil Engineering program or an Architectural Engineering program focused on structures.
Completion of at least one steel or concrete design class.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and engineering software.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Commitment to innovation and continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

Completion of both steel and concrete design classes.
Familiarity with REVIT Structure.
Co-op or internship experience related to commercial, institutional, or residential buildings.

Responsibilities

Assist the project team in preparing structural designs and drawings for commercial, institutional, residential, and other buildings, from conceptual and preliminary design through construction.
Perform field reviews of projects under construction and/or visit existing buildings to document existing conditions.
Become familiar with engineering plans and details.
Assist with computer modeling and hand calculations.
