About The Position

TYLin is seeking an Engineering Intern to join its New York, NY office for the summer of 2027. The intern will work with project teams on structural engineering projects for buildings, including commercial, institutional, and residential structures. Projects may involve new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. The internship provides hands-on experience across project stages, from conceptual and preliminary design through construction, in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

Current third-year undergraduate standing or graduate student standing in an accredited Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering program with a focus on structures.
Completion of at least one steel or concrete design class.
Experience with MS Word, Excel, and engineering software.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Strong commitment to integrity and ethical, fair, and responsible behavior.
Commitment to innovation and continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

Completion of both steel and concrete design classes.
Familiarity with REVIT Structure.
Co-op or internship experience related to commercial, institutional, or residential buildings.

Responsibilities

Assist project teams with preparing structural designs and drawings for buildings from conceptual and preliminary design through construction.
Perform field reviews of projects under construction and visit existing buildings to document existing conditions.
Become familiar with engineering plans and details.
Assist with computer modeling and hand calculations.
