•$200,000 - $225,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Actionstep is a SaaS company specializing in legal practice management software, with a global customer base of more than 30,000 and a team of over 300. The Engineering team develops, maintains, and operates the company’s software through cross-disciplinary squads of engineers, analysts, and product experts. The Engineering Director for AI Products leads several teams through their engineering managers and partners with a product lead and product managers. AI Products owns AI features in Actionstep products and platform capabilities including agents, open APIs and MCP, search, analytics, and workflow automation. The role is based in Denver, Colorado, in a hybrid environment, and leads teams across North America and Asia-Pacific. Actionstep builds with AI throughout the development lifecycle: engineers and product managers set direction, write specifications, and review and own shipped work, while AI agents perform much of the building and testing. The company emphasizes its development tooling and review process as a product, and measures delivery alongside quality. Its platform uses TypeScript services, React micro-frontends, a shared design system, and AWS across multiple regions. The role sets direction, standards, and priorities for a group of teams; develops engineering managers; turns the AI roadmap into production features; builds reliable shared platform capabilities; establishes responsible and cost-conscious AI practices; and advances AI-driven development across the group. Leading teams in multiple time zones may require some early or late calls. The position reports to the CTO.
