About The Position

APTIM is seeking a highly motivated and technically adept Engineering Business Analyst to support its Engineering and GIS teams in optimizing and evolving the application ecosystem. The role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT, helping define the strategy, roadmap, and effective use of engineering and geospatial applications. The analyst partners across business lines to understand needs, support implementations, and continuously improve system functionality.

The position serves as the primary IT liaison for Engineering and GIS application domains; gathers and prioritizes requirements; supports governance and optimization of engineering and GIS applications; maps workflows and collaborates on implementation strategies; and supports integrations with enterprise systems. It also includes software-license optimization, user training and support, testing and deployment assistance, process documentation, and coordination with vendors and internal teams to maintain system performance and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, GIS, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting technical or engineering teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard documentation tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with engineering and GIS software ecosystems such as Autodesk, Bentley, ESRI, or similar.
• Understanding of application portfolio management and IT governance practices.
• Knowledge of APIs, system integrations, and data flows.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary IT liaison for Engineering and GIS application domains.
• Elicit, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements for engineering systems.
• Support governance and optimization of a portfolio of engineering and GIS applications.
• Analyze and map engineering workflows and collaborate with IT on implementation strategies.
• Support integrations between engineering systems, GIS platforms, and enterprise systems such as ERP and project systems.
• Manage and optimize software licensing, including Autodesk Flex token agreements.
• Provide training and ongoing support to end users.
• Assist in testing, validation, and deployment of system updates and new capabilities.
• Document system processes, changes, and best practices.
• Work with vendors and internal teams to maintain system performance and compliance.
