Engineering Associate (Seasonal) | Hotel Zoso
About The Position
The Engineering Associate maintains the building’s physical appearance and working order, including assisting with the functionality and general upkeep of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The role ensures engineering tools, equipment, safety features, storerooms, and work areas are secure, clean, properly maintained, and organized. The associate completes delegated work orders professionally and on time, responds to after-hours calls as necessary, reports and addresses unsafe conditions immediately, and performs other assigned tasks. This is a seasonal position at Hotel Zoso in Palm Springs.
Requirements
- Must be able to complete all types of work orders generated for engineering.
- Must have a general understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to effectively perform painting, woodworking, and general carpentry.
- Ability to perform maintenance and general repair.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.
Nice To Haves
- Journeymen-level experience or equivalent in a trade, or 2+ years of building maintenance experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the building’s physical appearance and working order, including assisting with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system functionality and general upkeep.
- Maintain the security, cleanliness, preventative maintenance, and repair of engineering tools, equipment, and safety features in accordance with established procedures and budgets.
- Keep engineering storerooms and work areas clean and orderly, and store tools, equipment, and spare parts in their proper locations.
- Treat and care for tools and equipment properly.
- Complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Respond to after-hours calls as necessary.
- Report and address unsafe conditions immediately.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
