The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Central Region, is seeking an Engineering Assistant 1/2/3 Flex in Anchorage to support the Keep Alaska Moving initiative. This position, within the Hydrology and Hydraulics group, functions as a designer under a registered professional engineer. The primary responsibility is to assist staff in performing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) engineering tasks crucial for the design, construction, and maintenance of roadways and airports in the Central Region. Key duties include analyzing hydrologic data, performing hydraulic design for culverts and erosion protection, conducting field inspections (sometimes in remote locations via small aircraft), preparing plans, specifications, and estimates, and authoring technical documents. The role also involves assisting project managers with consultant deliverables and reviewing engineering submittals.
