About The Position

Vishay's Specialty Thin Film Division is seeking an Engineering & Technology Manager to join their leadership team in Warwick, Rhode Island. This role is crucial for driving growth and operational excellence. The manager will provide leadership for the site's engineering organization, focusing on improving manufacturing performance, supporting customers, developing new technologies, and driving continuous improvement. This position requires a blend of engineering and business leadership, collaborating with Operations, Product Marketing, Quality, and Sales to enhance manufacturing capabilities, develop innovative technical solutions, support new business opportunities, and strengthen the company's competitiveness.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
  • Must qualify as a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 due to access to ITAR/EAR information.

Nice To Haves

  • Semiconductor, thin film, microelectronics, precision manufacturing, or related industry experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and quality systems.
  • Experience with automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team.
  • Support manufacturing through process improvement, problem solving, and technical leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, yield, and cost reduction.
  • Lead new product introductions and manufacturing technology improvements.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Product Marketing, and Sales to support customers and win new business.
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment, capital investments, and automation opportunities.
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through successful implementation.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
