About The Position

REI Co-op is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Marketing Technology team. This role is responsible for leading a team of engineers in an agile, collaborative environment, partnering with stakeholders and product management to deliver and evolve technology solutions for Content Supply Chain, AdTech, and SEO capabilities. The position is key to enabling REI's marketing and digital experience strategy by delivering scalable, reliable technology solutions that enhance content operations, advertising effectiveness, and search visibility. The successful candidate will provide strong technical and organizational leadership, guiding the team in modernizing platforms, streamlining processes, adopting AI-assisted workflows, and accelerating the delivery of innovative solutions that drive business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business administration, or equivalent training and experience.
  • 2+ years supervisory experience in the information technology field and the ability to direct technical work teams.
  • 5+ years experience in information technology, including leading teams in systems analysis or software engineering.
  • 5+ years experience in software development.
  • 5+ years experience planning, organizing and directing systems development projects.
  • Experience developing long-term technology strategies.
  • Experience managing multiple project teams.
  • Experience developing team-level plans and contributing to annual budgets.
  • Experience supporting one or more Marketing Technology domains, including Content Supply Chain, AdTech, Retail Media, SEO, digital marketing, content operations, or related platforms.
  • Knowledge of methodologies, standards, procedures and organization that contribute to the development and deployment of technology solutions.
  • Skills in resource management, project prioritization, problem solving, issue management and negotiation, and mediation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and respond quickly to critical issues.
  • Systems analysis and design skills.
  • Knowledge of business principles from multiple disciplines and ability to apply those principles.
  • Ability to manage customer and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and across divisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with technologies used by the team, including modern web application technologies, APIs and event-driven architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), source control platforms (e.g., GitHub), CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, and AI-enabled engineering productivity tools.
  • Familiarity with one or more Marketing Technology domains, including: Content Supply Chain platforms, including Digital Asset Management (DAM), Media Asset Management (MAM), content operations, and studio workflow systems; AdTech platforms and capabilities, including audience activation, campaign measurement, advertising technology integrations, and Retail Media Network (RMN) solutions; SEO technologies and practices, including metadata management, structured content, content discoverability, search optimization, analytics, and related tooling.

Responsibilities
