About The Position

Franz Family Bakery is hiring Bakery Maintenance Engineers to perform repairs and maintenance on bakery production equipment, freezers, and facilities. The work includes preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical components, and maintaining equipment productivity to minimize downtime. Tasks must be completed in an orderly, timely, cost-conscious, safe, and efficient manner; some must be completed within rigid time frames to support production. The role requires accurate maintenance records and parts requests, prompt responses to maintenance and line-stoppage calls, and emergency repairs. Technicians work throughout the maintenance department, provide technical assistance to the Engineering management team, and recommend work to the Chief Engineer. Shifts are assigned through a union bid process, and union membership in Local T690 is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on bakery equipment, including production equipment and its mechanical and electrical components.
• Maintain equipment productivity to minimize downtime and malfunctions.
• Keep work areas clean and safe and follow company GMPs and applicable federal and state requirements.
• Record work performed accurately and promptly on work orders, maintenance calls, and preventive maintenance reports.
• Prepare accurate parts request forms.
• Respond urgently and take ownership of maintenance and production-line stoppage calls.
• Perform emergency repairs quickly and efficiently.
• Perform duties across all areas of the maintenance department.
• Provide technical assistance and information to the Engineering management team.
• Recognize work that needs to be done and make recommendations to the Chief Engineer.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
