About The Position

The Seafood Manager provides customer service in accordance with company procedures and policies and oversees the daily operation of the Seafood department. The role trains, schedules, and supervises seafood clerks, maintains appropriate staffing, handles customer concerns, and follows division merchandising guidelines.

Duties include weighing and labeling packaged items, fulfilling customer special orders, replenishing displays, removing expired products, maintaining department cleanliness, and completing daily inventory and product and supply orders. The manager also monitors company communications, creates department signs as needed, and performs other assigned duties. Seafood Clerks report to this position.

Requirements

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work independently when necessary.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Any permits or licenses required vary by store location and state or county requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service according to company procedures and policies.
• Train, schedule, and supervise seafood clerks to maintain optimum staffing patterns.
• Resolve customer concerns related to the Seafood department.
• Follow division guidelines for implementing the merchandising program.
• Operate an electronic scanning scale to record the weight of packaged items and apply price tags to wrapped items.
• Obtain items from the case for customer special orders.
• Maintain cleanliness in the seafood area, including cleaning spills, surfaces, and equipment used for cutting and wrapping.
• Replenish seafood displays and remove expired items daily.
• Perform daily inventory and order products and supplies as needed.
• Monitor inter-office mail and the company web page daily for updated information.
• Make department signs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
