The Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) Engineer develops, maintains, and applies nuclear power plant PRA models to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of Cooper Nuclear Station. Engineering positions are managed under the NPPD Nuclear Engineering Career Path document. This role involves evaluating plant design and licensing changes to determine their impact on plant risk, implementing PRA modeling and techniques to meet industry and regulatory standards for optimization of programs at CNS, developing, maintaining, and documenting PRA computer-based models to efficiently and accurately evaluate risk associated with operation and maintenance of the plant, and providing quantitative and qualitative nuclear risk assessments to support 10CFR50.65, Mitigating Systems Performance Index (MSPI), NRC reactor oversight process, and risk informed licensing actions.
