About The Position

This position provides support to ensure a safe and healthful environment, compliance with regulations, and manufacturing initiatives that meet customer and business requirements. The role involves developing expertise in manufacturing equipment and processes, assisting with the development of mechanical knowledge for technical resources, and providing technical expertise in mechanical design. The engineer will offer daily manufacturing support, assist in developing machine centerlines and run settings, and participate in or lead projects including continuous improvement, equipment modifications, and installations. They will utilize project management tools, provide technical support for new product commercialization, coordinate equipment fabrication and installation, and participate in continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Additionally, the role supports purchasing with equipment specifications and requirements, resolves equipment issues, and identifies cost-saving opportunities. The engineer will analyze production data to identify opportunities for maximizing output and reducing waste. A commitment to Rockline/Iatric’s RRITE Values is expected, and associates play a direct role in ensuring work is performed safely. This position is designated as Safety-Sensitive.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent with 2 years Process/Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Alternatively, non-degreed participants with six (6) years of experience demonstrating required skills and aptitude are acceptable.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D for part and plant drawings.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate utilizing written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Must be well organized with the ability to support and participate in multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to develop training materials and effectively train adult learners.
  • Capacity to enhance education and technical skills.
  • Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Process Capability.
  • Experience with data-driven problem solving.
  • Experience with Team Based problem solving and process resolution.

Nice To Haves

  • 3D/Inventor experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise regarding mechanical design of components, equipment, and processes using engineering principles.
  • Provides daily manufacturing support by assisting operating teams and technical resources to analyze and resolve process issues related to equipment, product quality, and productivity.
  • Assists with the development of machine centerlines and good run settings.
  • Participates in and/or provides coordination and leadership for projects, including continuous or process improvement initiatives, equipment modifications, and equipment installation projects.
  • Utilizes tools to ensure objectives are met with defined and agreed upon results, Scope Documents, and visual management tools.
  • Provides technical support for the commercialization of new products, processes, or systems.
  • Coordinates the fabrication, operation, installation, and/or repair of equipment and processes.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities with respect to safety, quality, productivity, and cost initiatives.
  • Provides support to purchasing by providing equipment specifications and/or requirements, resolving equipment or parts issues, and realizing cost savings opportunities with equipment vendors or parts suppliers.
  • Participates in analyzing production, waste, and delay information to identify opportunities to maximize output, reduce waste and improve overall asset efficiencies.
