About The Position

This position provides support to ensure a safe and healthful environment for all employees and compliance with government regulations and corporate policies. The role involves developing expertise in manufacturing equipment and processes to support initiatives that meet customer and business requirements. It also includes assisting with the development of mechanical knowledge and skills for technical resources and others. The engineer will provide technical expertise regarding mechanical design of components, equipment, and processes using engineering principles. Daily manufacturing support will be provided by assisting operating teams and technical resources to analyze and resolve process issues related to equipment, product quality, and productivity. The role also involves assisting with the development of machine centerlines and good run settings, participating in and/or coordinating projects (continuous improvement, equipment modifications, installations), and utilizing project management tools. Technical support for new product/process commercialization and coordination of equipment fabrication, operation, installation, and/or repair are also key responsibilities. The engineer will participate in continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Support will be provided to purchasing for equipment specifications, resolving equipment/parts issues, and realizing cost savings with vendors. Analysis of production, waste, and delay information to identify opportunities for maximizing output, reducing waste, and improving asset efficiencies is required. Associates have a direct role in ensuring work is performed safely, and effectiveness in this is part of essential accountabilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent with 2 years Process/Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Alternatively, non-degreed participants with six (6) years of experience demonstrating required skills and aptitude are acceptable.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D for part and plant drawings.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate utilizing written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Well organized with the ability to support and participate in multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to develop training materials and effectively train adult learners.
  • Capacity to enhance education and technical skills.
  • Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Process Capability.
  • Experience with data-driven problem solving.
  • Experience with Team Based problem solving and process resolution.

Nice To Haves

  • 3D/Inventor experience is a plus.
