About The Position

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Odessa, TX. In this role, you will make an impact by completing troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. You will also perform preventative maintenance, utilize computers and software for diagnostics, and adhere to documented procedures and policies for complex repairs. Completing required documentation, ongoing training, and adhering to Health, Safety & Environmental policies are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Diesel Technician experience
  • Experience with engine repairs
  • Ability to complete troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance
  • Proficiency in using computers/software for diagnostic work
  • Ability to identify and prepare required parts and tools
  • Ability to complete required documentation
  • Willingness to undergo ongoing training and certifications
  • Adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation
  • Ability to disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble engines and/or engine components
  • Ability to maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation

Responsibilities

  • Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
  • Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
  • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
  • Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components.
  • Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
