About The Position

The Workshop Mechanic will be responsible for conducting examinations, diagnosis, and troubleshooting, as well as performing small and major repairs on a wide range of MEWPS (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) to ensure customer specifications are met. The role requires carrying out all tasks to the highest standards and ensuring a safe environment for colleagues and oneself. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Evidence of technical training in a mechanical field would be an advantage.
  • Must gain a license or certification to operate a Forklift and Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to read drawings to perform minor repairs.
  • Must work efficiently and safely, either independently or with a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Computer experience, i.e., work with Microsoft products.
  • Self-motivated to complete the required daily tasks within the specified deadlines.
  • Ability to continuously learn on the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct examinations, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of MEWPS.
  • Perform small and major repairs on MEWPS.
  • Ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Carry out all tasks to the highest standards.
  • Ensure a safe environment for colleagues and oneself.
  • Perform quality assurance and safety checks on completed MEWPS prior to delivery.
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Repair mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ensure that all MEWPS are prepped, cleaned, and ready for shipment.
  • Inspect surfaces to detect minor chips and scratches in paint and touch up imperfections.
  • Maintain work area, ensuring proper clean up after inspections are complete.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative and Linamar policies.
  • Support other team members as required to ensure deadlines are met and all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
