Engagement Manager

Full Spectrum•Westborough, MA
•$85,000 - $125,000

About The Position

Full Spectrum is seeking an Engagement Manager to serve as the connective link between clients and engineering teams. The position combines client service, project coordination, and technical operations. The Engagement Manager does not produce engineering deliverables but develops enough understanding of them to identify risks, explain technical realities in plain language, and help projects run smoothly from the client side. The role is suited to someone with experience in a client-facing or delivery-coordination position who wants greater ownership, variety, and exposure to engineering work without requiring a deep technical background. The Engagement Manager typically owns relationships across a portfolio of projects for assigned clients, ranging from several small, fast-moving projects to a large, multi-year program. This is a career-track role with opportunities to take on larger and more complex accounts and programs. It provides exposure to engineering project delivery, close working relationships with technical leadership, and ownership of outcomes important to clients and the business. The position is located in Westborough, Massachusetts, or Lincolnshire, Illinois. The base salary is $85,000 to $125,000 annually, and the role is eligible for a bonus. The final offer depends on factors including experience, location, skills, education, and market conditions.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in a client-facing, delivery, or coordination role, such as customer success, client or professional services, project coordination, account management, or technical/solutions support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort delivering both good news and difficult news to clients.
  • Curiosity about technical work and a track record of learning new domains quickly; an engineering degree is not required.
  • Sound judgment about when to resolve an issue independently and when to escalate.
  • A service mindset combined with the ability to maintain an honest, firm position on scope, budget, and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and build trust through responsiveness, transparency, and follow-through.
  • Run regular client check-ins and status updates, adapting detail to client preferences and technical fluency.
  • Identify client concerns, feedback, and satisfaction issues early, before they become escalations.
  • Proactively manage expectations when timelines, scope, or budget may be at risk.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with technical leads, flagging risks and dependencies before they cause delays.
  • Coordinate resourcing discussions with technical leads and leadership to maintain adequate project staffing.
  • Manage commercial administration, including scope changes, change orders, and contract milestones.
  • Maintain accurate project status across the portfolio and report overall project health to leadership.
  • Build working knowledge of engineering disciplines and project types to follow technical discussions, ask informed questions, and identify when escalation is needed.
  • Partner with technical leads to understand risks, technical tradeoffs, and progress, and communicate these accurately to clients.
  • Identify recurring risks, resourcing gaps, and client pain points across the portfolio and share them to support process improvement.
